서울라이트 DDP 2023 가을 “Digital Nature”
<p class="bbs_title" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">“디지털 기술로 구현되는 새로운 자연에 대한 예술적 경험”</span><br style="line-height: 1.6;" /> <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">2023년 서울라이트 DDP가 연 2회 개최로 시민들 곁을 찾아옵니다!</span></p> <p style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p> <p class="bbs_text" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">전 세계적으로 발생한 감염병과 기후변화는 우리의 일상에 많은 변화를 가져왔습니다. 우리는 주거 및 상업 공간 안에서 대체 자연을 만나는 일이 익숙해졌고 TV와 스마트폰 같은 영상 시스템이 내장된 기기들을 통해 스크린속에서 대체 자연을 경험하며, 실제 자연에 대한 욕구를 충족시키게 되었습니다. VR은 현실에서만 경험할 수 있었던 자연을 가상공간에서 생생하게 체험할 수 있도록 만들었습니다.</span></p> <p style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p> <p class="bbs_text" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">2023 서울라이트 DDP는 ‘태초로부터 존재해 온 실제 자연(real nature)과 인류가 창조한 기술적 자연(technological nature)이 공존할 수 있을까?’라는 물음에서 시작되었습니다.</span></p> <p style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p> <p class="bbs_text" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">이제는 통제하고 지배해야만 하는 자연이 아닌, 인간과 자연이 상호 교감하며 공존할 수 있도록 ‘공존의 감각’을 찾아보고자 합니다. 세상에 가장 먼저 존재했던 ‘빛’을 과학 기술로 구현해 낸 ‘빛(프로젝션)’을 통해 기술을 활용한 새로운 자연을 마주하고 공존의 감각을 넘어 자연에 대한 생명애(biophilia)까지 느낄 수 있도록 준비하였습니다.</span></p>

[비더비 권오상 초대전] 서울의 멋: 반짝이는 좌대와 사물의 조각들
<p style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br /></span></p> <p class="bbs_text" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">사진과 조각이라는 서로 다른 매체를 혼합하는 실험적인 업을 통해 ‘사진조각’ 장르를 개척한 한국의 대표적인 조형 작가 권오상이 서울의 라이프스타일을 대표하는 10개 브랜드와의 콜라보레이션 전시를 선보인다. 이번 전시에서 작가는 그의 대표적인 연작인 ‘매스패턴스(Mass-patterns)’ 의 형식에 20세기 영국의 조각가 헨리 무어의 작품에서 영향을 받은 추상적인 형태가 결합된 새로운 조형성을 시도하였다.</span></p> <p style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p> <p class="bbs_text" style="line-height: 160%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">전시장에 자리한 10점의 작품은 매끄럽게 흐르는 추상적 형태 속에 서울의 일상을 점유하는 다양한 사물들을 품고 있다. 의자와 신발, 향수, 안경과 같은 일상적 물건들 틈새로 동작대교, 네온사인, 킥보드, 거리 음식 등 한가로운 서울의 정물들이 자리한다. 작가는 ‘서울의 멋’이라는 주제에 대한 직관적인 이미지들로 거침없이 작품을 채운다. 그의 작품 속에서 ‘서울의 멋’은 유서 깊은 역사나 애틋한 인간 군상이 아닌 일상적인 사물들의 나열이 된다. 전시장에서는 거울로 면을 채운 벽과 좌대, 그리고 작품이 서로를 비추며 반짝인다. “반짝”은 사진을 찍을 때 터지는 플래쉬와 같이 ‘작은 빛이 잠깐 나타났다 사라지는 모양’을 뜻하지만, ‘어떤 생각이 갑자기 머리에 떠오르는 모양’이라는 의미도 지닌다. 선뜻 떠오른 모양. 관람객은 서울을 대상으로 하는 수많은 이미지의 중첩 사이로 “반짝” 자신만의 서울을 그려낸다.</span></p>
