제1회 안평 안견 오늘의 작가상 The 1st Anpyeong Angyeon Today's Artist Award 권소영의 회화는 형상이 분명하여 재현적 풍경이라 말할 수 있지만 단순히 외형의 서사로 그치지 않는다. 안료의 중첩과 번짐이 스미는 효과로서 색보다는 먹을 중점에 두고 표현되는 풍경이다. 먹이라는 안료의 특성상 전통과도 연관 지어 볼 수 있지만 그보다 현대적 개념이 어울려 나오는 내용이 대부분이다. 하나의 이야기라기보다 경험과 기억이 축적되어 먹과 만날 때 드러나는 형상으로 자연은 일상과 연결되는 부분이 있다. 작가는 여행을 즐겨왔고 그때의 경험된 자연을 잊지 못한다. 뭐라 설명되지 않는 느낌이 경이로움으로 전달될 때 외형을 담아내고자 먹은 조금씩 변화하는 장면으로 수직수평적 구도에서 갈수록 근접해 들어간다. 선택과 생략이 빚어낸 빛에 반짝이는 잎들이 인상적이다. 화면을 가득 메운 구성에서 아름다움을 전제로 진지함은 낯익지만 때로는 낯설게 다양한 이야기로 어필되는 중이다. 작가는 개인의 서사가 어떻게 그림으로 드러나는지 먹을 따라 선보인다. 자연의 현상들을 관찰하며 형태를 연구해 인간의 내면을 같이 표현하고자 한다. 교감은 자연과 하나 되는 마음으로 물아일체 ‘物我一體’의 깨달음은 반복될 수밖에 없다. 성찰 같은 행위로써 사소하고도 중요한 일들이 이곳에서 얻어진다. 살면서 오는 고단함을 잠시 잊고 나를 자연에 맡기는 순간이 찾아올 때 선택은 좀 더 명확해 진다. 문득 찾아온 기억은 비워내야 할 것과 간직하고픈 기억들이 교차되면서 지나간 것들을 생각하고 앞날을 설계한다. 한 사람으로 나아갈 방향은 기대와 걱정이 오가며 먹의 풍경이 된다. 시간의 흐름 앞에서 탄생과 소멸에 관심을 가지며 작가로서 진지한 마음 가짐은 삶과 연결된 작업에 대한 생각이 끊임이 없다. 섬세하고 예민한 붓끝이 투명함도 드러내면서 때로는 관계로 이어지는 세상 살아가는 모습도 은유해 본다. 지금의 예술가로서 보이는 것에서 보이지 않는 일어날 일들을 생각한다. ‘도가도 비상도 명가명 비상명’ ‘道可道非常道, 名可名非常名’이라 했던가. 노자가 도 ‘道’에 대한 정의를 내리지 못한 것처럼 먹의 표현 안에서 돌아가는 이치를 깨우치려 한다. 때로는 무모한 도전처럼 보일지라도 예술가의 관점에서 자신의 생각을 주저 없이 드러낸다. 아직은 먹의 기운이 미비하지만 그러한 깊이로 쌓일 때 비로소 완성되는 작업이다. 작가의 그림은 묘하게 이해받는 자연으로 위로를 주지만 그래도 평면 밖에 존재하는 이야기들이 어느 때 공허함으로 다가오는 것은 삶이 있는 한 계속될 것이다.  The artist presents how the individual's narrative is revealed through the painting. By observing natural phenomena and studying forms, she tries to express the inner side of humans together. The realization of the one thing that is united with nature is bound to be repeated. Small and important things are obtained here as an act like reflection. When the moment comes when we forget the hardships of life for a while and leave ourselves to nature, the choices become clearer. The sudden memories that need to be emptied and the memories we want to cherish intersect, thinking about the past and designing the future. The direction of moving as a person becomes a landscape of ink as expectations and worries come and go. she is interested in birth and extinction in the face of the passage of time, and as an artist, she is constantly thinking about work connected to life. While the delicate and sensitive brush tips reveal transparency, she sometimes metaphorically try to live in the world that leads to relationships. She thinks about the invisible things that will happen in what she sees as an artist now. We know the phrase 'The Way that can be walked is not the eternal Way; the name that can be named is not the eternal name.' Just as Lao-tzu failed to define 'Way', she tries to awaken the reason that works in the expression of ink. Even though it may seem like a reckless challenge at times, she does not hesitate to reveal her thoughts from the artist's point of view. Although the energy of ink is still insufficient, it is a work that is completed only when it is accumulated at such a depth. The artist's painting comforts us with understanding nature strangely, but the stories that exist outside the canvas at some time come to be empty will continue as long as there is life. KWON So-young's painting can be said to be a representative landscape because of its clear shape, but it is not just a narrative of appearance. It is a landscape expressed with an emphasis on ink rather than color as the effect of overlapping and smudging of pigments. Due to the nature of the pigment called ink, it can be compared to tradition, but most of the contents incorporate modern concepts. Rather than a story, there is a part where nature is connected to everyday life as a shape that is revealed when experiences and memories are accumulated and meet ink. The artist has enjoyed traveling and cannot forget the nature experienced at that time. When the unexplained feeling is conveyed as a wonder, the scene that changes little by little to capture the appearance is getting closer and closer to the vertical composition. The sparkling leaves in the light created by selection and omission are impressive. In the composition that fills the screen, seriousness on the premise of beauty is appealing with a variety of familiar but sometimes unfamiliar stories.
