Location-Based Service Terms

1. Location-based features

With device permission, MYMU can center the map on your current or last-known location and send map-center coordinates to the MYMU API to return nearby exhibitions, popups, and cultural events. If you elect to use photo metadata or save a visit location, coordinates may be attached to that private record. Opening an external route transfers the selected venue—not your stored account record—to Apple Maps or Google Maps under that provider’s terms.

2. Consent and control

Location is optional. Before MYMU requests device location permission or reads current location, the app presents these terms and records acceptance of the current version on the device. You can decline, or later revoke device permission in iOS or Android settings. You may use city browsing and record features without current location, although nearby sorting and “my location” map controls will not work. You can omit photo metadata and delete a saved record location.

3. Retention and records

Current or last-known location used for nearby discovery is processed for the request and is not retained as a separate location history; coordinate parameters are redacted from application logs. Coordinates deliberately saved in a visit record remain until that record or account is deleted. A coordinate-free record of the service, acquisition path, recipient, method, and time of location use is retained for six months for complaints and legal compliance, then deleted automatically.

4. Rights and safeguards

You may withdraw consent, pause location processing, delete stored location, or request access to applicable use/provision records by contacting support@mymu.app. We use transport encryption, access controls, log minimization, and provider oversight. We do not provide personal location to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Children and changes

We do not knowingly process a child’s personal location without consent required from a parent or guardian. Material changes to location purposes, recipients, or retention will be announced in advance and fresh consent will be requested where required.
